Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and Department of Environmental Design, Health and Nutritional Sciences (ED, H&NS) organized One Day Community Outreach Event on “Nutrition for Healthier Living (Eat Right, Stay Healthy)” on Thursday 07th October, 2021 from 10 AM to 10 PM at The Centaurus Mall, F-8 Islamabad. The basic purpose of the event was to enhance awareness about Nutritional Status, Body Mass Index, Ideal Body Weight and prevention of related health issues among public including:
- Creating awareness by helping the individuals in performing self-calculations,
- Handing over content-based brochures for healthy eating patterns and getting data related to
selected parameters with the help of brief questionnaires. - A brief Personalized guidance on Dietary Guidelines for better health and Nutritional status.
- Use of Stadiometer for volunteer/General Public at Stall
AIOU intends to arrange such community outreach events to create awareness for raising health, nutrition and well-being of the community, keeping focus on goal numbers 2, 3, 4 and 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and by using professional and creative capabilities of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad.
