Keeping in view the growing need for knowledge exchange in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and in pursuit of Higher Education Commission (HEC) focus on permanent growth and expansion of research activities by developing industrial liaison, the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) has been established in Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).The primary focus of ORIC is to link the AIOU’s research activities with the educational, social, economic and commercial sectors.The ORIC will provide strategic and operational assistance by acting as a research platform so that invention can be transformed into innovation for the betterment of the community as a whole. In addition, it will function as the main research hub of AIOU for disseminating research findings to the academic community through journals, conferences and seminars. In addition, the university has also granted 15% funding preferably allocated for research projects of AIOU from HEC.
About ORIC
Functions
To work under the directions of HEC with the consultation of Vice Chancellor and the Academic departments. Conduct two meetings a year with HEC.
