ORIC is spreading awareness among AIOU faculty members and students by promoting research culture via identifying research competitions, scholarships, research grants and by holding competitions, conferences, workshops, seminars and other research based activities.
The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) organized One Day Ceremony on ‘Entrepreneurial and Research Awards’ on Wednesday, June 01, 2022. This ceremony was mainly organized with a purpose to acknowledge and reward the accomplishments achieved by our bright AIOU students in various Entrepreneurial and Research oriented competitions.
In connection with this, ORIC took this initiative by awarding the AIOU students with cash prizes and certificates for various competitions such as;
- Research Publication Awards
- Big Ideas Competition
- TiE Global Competition
- Projects won from Ignite (National ICT R & D Fund)
ORIC announced Call for Research Publications 2021-2022 in a separate category specially dedicated for AIOU students. 14 AIOU students were awarded AIOU Research Publication Grant 2021-22.
“Big Ideas Competition” was another worthy initiative took by ORIC to encourage the young entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and get recognition. ORIC had received around 100 ideas and short listed 09 ideas among them. In this regard, a ceremony was organized by the ORIC Department on June 01, 2022. Through a rigorous multistage evaluation process including several jury/panel sessions, all shortlisted students were honored with certificates and 03 students were declared winners of the competition and also awarded with cash prizes as below:
1st Prize = Rs. 75,000
2nd Prize = Rs. 50,000
3rd Prize = Rs. 30,000
The 1st runner-up and other 11 participants of TiE Global Competition from AIOU were also part of the ceremony. They were also awarded with certificate of appreciation to acknowledge their hard work. 08 winners of project IGNITE (National ICT R &D Fund) 2020-21 were also recognized by awarding them with certificates. This whole day activity was conducted to appreciate the efforts and performance of AIOU students in various National and International competitions.
Student idea competitions are events focusing on the development and presentation of fresh solutions that can relate to any discipline from arts to engineering. By supporting a good idea and working on the acceleration of student talents, students can create an impact for sustainable development.
