One-day Seminar on GIS & Remote Sensing

ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2015 FROM 09:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

AT MAIN AUDITORIUM, AIOU, ISLAMABAD.

This seminar intends to give an opportunity to the students with background in diverse fields like engineering, environmental sciences, agriculture, forestry & IT to apply geospatial tools in their respective fields. In emerging technology paradigm, “Geographical Information System (GIS)” has emerged as a powerful technology which has a potential to organize complex spatial environment with tabular relationships. “Remote sensing” is the art and science of making measurements of the earth using sensors on airplanes or satellites.

The following topics would be covered in this seminar and the Resource Persons who have vast experience in GIS & RS would deliver lectures that would contain useful knowledge for professional development.

  • Identification and Assessment of Crop (Wheat) using Geo-Informatics
  • Applications of Remote Sensing and GIS for Agricultural Mapping and Monitoring
  • Geospatial Big Data
